Buying a Home
Everyone deserves a decent place to live.
Beyond New Builds - Second Chances
Our Mission: A Decent Place to Live for Everyone
We believe that no matter who we are or where we come from, everyone deserves to live in a safe, stable, and affordable home. A decent place to live is more than just a roof overhead. It is a foundation for stability, health, and hope for the future. By eliminating the barriers that prevent families from accessing quality housing, we are helping neighbors build the strength and self-reliance they need to thrive.
Transforming Lives Through Housing
Stable, decent housing is the cornerstone of a thriving community. When a family is not forced to choose between paying rent and buying groceries, they can focus on their health, their education, and their future. Our work is dedicated to creating safe, decent homes that allow children to succeed in school and parents to build a better life. Together, we are building a stronger community where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and security.
How to qualify for a Habitat home
200 Hours of Sweat Equity + Demonstrated Need
+ Ability to Pay Affordable Mortgage
Habitat does not give homes away. Our qualified home buyers help build their houses by putting in 200 hours of sweat equity. Then they purchase their houses with an affordable mortgage that we provide. Homeowners qualify by demonstrating their need for a Habitat house, their ability to pay for it, and their willingness to accomplish their sweat equity hours and other requirements, like completing a financial education program.
